

GLCACS Student Awards Program
Each year at the GLCACS Annual Conference, university students and post-doctoral fellows are encouraged to participate in contests for the chance to win the Outstanding Student Research Award and Student Research Presentation Award.
Award winners are recognized during the conference and are awarded with certifications and nominal amounts of money.
At the 27th GLCACS Annual Conference (2025), only Student Research Presentation Award will be awarded solely based on the performance of the student’s presentation.

GLCACS Speakers
For each GLCASC Annual Conference, GLCACS invites distinguished speakers from industry, academia, and other institutions to give presentations and participate in panel discussions.
Through the last more than two decades, our speakers had shared their expertise, insight, and wisdom with us, and served as role models that have inspired the conference participants. Their volunteering efforts have positively influenced hundreds of the people in our community.

Received Chemical Engineering Outstanding Contribution Award
Norman Li, Ph.D.
In July 2025, at the 12th World Congress of Chemical Engineering and the 21st Asian Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering Congress, Dr. Norman Li, the Board Chair of GLCACS, was honored with the Chemical Engineering Outstanding Contribution Award.
Dr. Li, a pioneer in membrane science and separation technology, is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Over his six-decade career, Dr. Li has played influential roles in both industry and professional communities.

Newly Elected NAE Member
Chunqing Liu, Ph.D.
In February 2024, National Academy of Engineering elected 114 new members, including Dr. Chunqing Liu, R&D senior fellow and senior manager, Green H2 Growth Vector Group at Honeywell UOP, Des Plaines, Illinois. In the NAE announcement, she was credited for the polymer and membrane innovations for cost-effective natural gas and green hydrogen production and use.

Newly Elected CACS President
2024 SASE Achievement Awardee
Ling Zhou, Ph.D.
Dr. Ling Zhou, Fellow and manager at Honeywell UOP, Des Plaines, Illinois, becomes the national CACS President in 2024. With his extensive management experience in the industry, Dr. Zhou had demonstrated his outstanding leadership credential during his services as the GLCACS President (2020 - 2022) and the CACS President Elect (2023).
Being recognized by Honeywell UOP and the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), Ling was presented with the 2024 SASE Achievement Award, in the Engineer Career Achievement category.

Zhe Ren, Ph.D.
Dr. Zhe Ren has been an R&D Scientist at Honeywell UOP, Des Plaines, Illinois for the last 3 years. Being recognized by Honeywell UOP and the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), Zhe was presented with the 2024 SASE Achievement Award, in the Engineer Promising Professional Achievement category.
